About the 'Ka Hikina' Website
'Ka Hikina' is a website offering services provided by Kahikina Nailiili. It features a monthly subscription-based online lesson video service under the 'Hula Lesson' plan, delivering high-quality hula instruction.
What Kahikina Aims to Convey Through the 'Hula Lessons'
'Hula Lessons' are based on Kahikina Nailiili's philosophy, offering online lessons designed to share her passion for hula.
Each month, Kahikina provides a video lecture featuring choreography she has personally created. Through these lessons, she hopes to share her unique approach to hula and convey the meaning behind her movements to all participants.
'Hula Lessons' Content
By subscribing, you will have access to the following. However, please note that the timing of video releases is based on the instructor's teaching philosophy. Please see the details below.
1: On the 1st of each month, the first half of the lesson video for one song will be released.
First, we aim for you to thoroughly learn each individual movement. To support this, the song lyrics are provided at the top of the page. We encourage you to research the meaning on your own and form your own interpretation whenever possible.
2: One week later, on the 8th of each month, the second half of the lesson video along with the complete choreography will be released.
This time, the full choreography video will also be made available. However, we recommend starting with the second half of the lesson video to thoroughly learn each individual movement. Afterward, watch the full choreography video and practice the entire routine for the song. We encourage you to think of and ask any questions pertaining to the hula during the Zoom online lecture.
3: Each Zoom online lecture (approximately 90 minutes) will be held in the second half of each month.
Please refer to the calendar for the exact date.
During the Zoom online lecture, Kahikina will share her thoughts on the current song and explain the Hawaiian words featured in it. She will also address questions submitted beforehand via LINE and, time permitting, answer live questions during the session. For those unable to attend, an archived video of the lecture will be available.
